Monday, Monday....So Good To Me.

As most of you know, I have Sundays and Mondays off. I enjoy Sunday with my family and then look forward to Monday spending the day shopping or doing something crafty. I work only two blocks from our front door so after work, unlike Chris, I don't have that drive to unwind & leave the work day behind me. I usually stay in Conway the entire week and don't leave to go anywhere. Those of you that have been here know it is a very tiny town that consists of a grocery store, a couple convince stores, bank, post office, schools & a pub, basically that is it. Not a lot of entertainment during the week! Combining that with my daily hours of 10-7, well there aren't many choices to go on my lunch break but home.

So, I really enjoy MY Mondays to escape the everyday chaos. What is cool, usually each Monday is totally different. Some consist of a trip to Springfield to hit Hobby Lobby & Michael's (my absolute favorite spot), on occasion I will meet up with friends for lunch or just to spend an afternoon...whatever it is Mondays are generally fun.

That is until NINE (9) yes, nine weeks ago. January brought a ton of bad, violent weather. It started with the tornadoes. That hit just outside of town and the kids were out of school. Each & every Monday since then it has either been an ice storm (good grief, we've had more than our share this winter), then we've had a couple of "snow storms". Really by Nebraska or Kansas or Colorado standards those are NOT snow storms with 3" of snow on the ground but with the skinny, windy roads with narrow bridges, it is definitely safer for the buses to be parked in the bus barn. To sum it up the boys have missed about 2 weeks of school since January 7th and it has been at the beginning of each week.

I was totally psyched about THIS Monday. Today was 50 degrees and SUNNY and brilliantly bright....my kind of day. I function so much better in sunlight, it makes my glowing personality come out....HA....HA....HA.....yep, the last laugh was on me as our youngest rolled out of bed sick this morning. We, yes, I said WE! spent the day in the pediatricians office so that he could diagnose a cold and severe sinus infection. Oh, what a joy!!

But, I must admit....I had a WONDERFUL day with Aaron. He talks just as much as I do & he was very informative in our conversations. I learned a whole lot, I even learned some things I probably could've done without hearing. LOL....I don't get much time alone with my sons due to my work hours. Chris spends a tremendous amount of time with them, which is way cool with this wife/mom. I miss them though. I am not an outdoor kinda girl, so I don't share in their hunting , fishing, paint ball wars or whatever else the great outdoors may bring. So, today, despite that fact that it should have been MY Monday, I throughly enjoyed spending time with my boy.

Aaron apologized to me for "messing" up my Monday. Next time, I will be more cautious about how I word things. As I said before, each one is totally different, this Monday however, I felt extremely blessed.
